Austrian Championship Of Cosplay
I remember when I walked into the area of prejudging where everyone was waiting (I was pretty much the last to arrive because at first I was waiting around the corner) and the first thing that came to my mind was “Ooookay, I don’t stand a chance”. Obviously I was very wrong at that point!
I had a great time backstage, I chatted with a lot of other contestants. The host was also there, interviewing each of us about our costumes and what we wanted him to emphasize during our stage performance. When it was my turn for prejudging I tried to explain every part of my costume, especially that I made almost everything myself so I could stay as true as possible to the design. I was really happy when the judges noticed all the small details I worked into this costume.
When almost all of us were through being judged we moved to the main stage and waited there for the show to start.
For my performance I chose a small choreography composed of three attack moves from Ciri’s fight with Caranthir in Skellige.
The victory ceremony was shortly after. When the third and the second prize has already been announced and it was time to call out the winner I remember very well taking a look around the other contestants thinking “Now with the best two costumes already named, who remains for the first prize?” And then Nana Kuronoma asked the other judges if they wanted to announce the winner all together and then all four stuck their heads together to speak into the mircophone and called “Ciri from The Witcher 3!”
Needless to say, I was so happy! I didn’t expect this to happen. I felt a bit dizzy from excitement but that didn’t matter.
We all gathered again on stage for a group picture and I then stayed a bit near the main stage so everybody could get photos with me.
